What is Gobak Sodor?
Do you remember the Indonesian traditional game which called Gobak Sodor?
Why is it called gobak Sodor? We might think because this game back and forth through the doors. In the Dutch language term may mean the same gobak Sodor with the word in English "Go Back Through the Door", some call it Galasin, could have adapted the language of the Dutch language if the language was translated to English to "Last Go In", unfortunately the words only a fictitious by someone.
Teens today might not be familiar with these types of games, because of modern games like video games, online games etc. Guard lines made with chalk as badminton courts, except that no duplicate lines.
Gobak Sodor consists of two teams, one team of three people. A rule of thumb is to intercept the opponent can not escape to the last line in a back and forth. To determine who is champion of all team members must complete the process of back and forth in a predetermined area of the field.
Team members who have a turn "guard" will maintain the field, the way is guarded by a horizontal line and there is also keeping the vertical boundary line. To guard duty horizontal line is trying to hinder their opponents who are also trying to bypass border line which has been determined as a free boundary. For those who get a job to maintain vertical lines then the task is to maintain the overall vertical lines located in the middle of the field.
This game is very interesting, fun and very difficult because each person must always be on guard and ran as fast as possible if necessary to achieve victory. When we got out of the last lines we become free or in Indonesian language familiar with: merdekaa .. this is what we want to go ..
